Greencastle Collect Intermediate Reserve Championship

Greencastle are the Intermediate Reserve champions for a second year in a row following a hard earned victory over Galbally in Eoghan Ruadh on Thursday evening. Played in front of a superb crowd on a crisp evening the game was in the balance right up until the final whistle.
Galbally had much the better of the opening quarter and led 0-5 to 0-2 thanks to Patrick Quinn, Mark Quinn and Peadar Kane who hit three excellent points during that time. The Pearses failed to capitalise on that good opening spell and Greencastle hit three points including the equaliser from Gavin Slane to go into the break level at 0-5 apiece.
The third quarter saw Galbally dominate the possession as they eased 0-8 to 0-7 ahead with Patrick Quinn and Peadar Kane back on the scoreboard for Galbally. Connor McGarvey hit Greencastle’s two points. Greencastle left the best to last as Paddy McElhatton and Connor McGarvey smashed home goals and it was left to Galbally substitute Cathal Kelly to fire home a late consolation goal for Galbally who lost out by a single point in the end. Final Score : Greencastle 2-8 Galbally 1-10
