Greencastle secured their senior status for 2011 with a well deserved victory over Killyclogher on Sunday afternoon. The Saint Patrick’s produced a fine display with county minors John and Cahir Mc Cullagh to the fore of most of the hoops good play. Sean Teague’s side had more to play for and it showed in their play as they fought for every ball. Barry Mc Garvey and Edan Clarke defended strongly when required and although Dermot Carlin did his best to drive the home side forward Greencastle were always in control and their three point margin of victory in no way flattered them.
Klidress find themselves really in the relegation mire following their two point defeat to league semi finalists Omagh St Endas. Goals from Jason Mc Anulla and Cathal Mc Carron and some terrific defending ensured that Tiffy Quinn’s side lost out in a game they had high hopes of winning. This ensures that the relegation picture remains as clear as mud and the playoff position at the top could still change.
