At half time in Dunmoyle  things were looking good for Liam Donnelly’s Trillick side as they led 2-2 to 0-5 after a very competitive and intriguing first half. The Reds hit two goals in the opening thirty minutes and indeed at one stage were 2-2 to 0-2 ahead of Clonoe. The first goal was a penalty converted by Eunan Mc Anespie  after Philip Mc Gread had been fouled. Niall Gormley landed their second shortly after as Trillick made the most of their opportunities. However Clonoe dominated the final ten minutes of the half and hit three unanswered scores to leave three points between the sides at the break. Colm Donnelly, Stephen Mc Nulty and Ryan T O’Neill were among the point scorers for the O’Rahilly’s.

That final ten minutes of the half must have inspired Clonoe as by the tenth minute of the second half they had wiped out Trillick’s advantage completely with points from  Donnelly, O’Neill and Hughes. When Shane O’Hagan put them ahead a few minutes later that was their seventh unanswered point. But they were not finished there as further points from Ryan T O’Neill,  Colm Doris and Conor Mc Aliskey put Clonoe in total control midway through the second half. Trillick failed to score for something like twenty six minutes until Richard Donnelly landed a free to get his team’s first score of the second half. Another Donnelly free and a point from Niall Gormley closed the gap to two points but that was as good as it got for Trillick as time ran out with the final score Clonoe 0-13, Trillick 2-5.
