The All Ireland Club Handball championships semi finals which were due to be played this weekend have now been postponed until the New Year at the earliest. With the present cold snap making travel all but impossible, it was always a possibility that this course of action would have to be taken. However that does not mean that Irish Handballers will be able to sit back and relax over the festive season. Indeed Christmas will prove to be a hugely important time for Handball in Ireland as the Irish Juniors ready themselves for their date with destiny in San Diego at the end of December. The team will travel to Dublin tomorrow to finalise their preparations and then fly out to America on Tuesday morning. The competition itself begins on the 27th of December and all the Irish players are seeded number one in their categories.
The players will compete in both singles and doubles codes. In Boys u15 Darren Doherty will partner Killian Carroll in the U17s and in the U19s Caolan Daly will be partnered by fellow Tyrone player/friend Conor Mc Elduff from Brackey Handball club
