For the second championship game running Stewartstown came through after extra time when they edged out a fancied Moortown side in a thrilling encounter at Father Campbell Park in Coalisland. The St.Malachys had the wind at their backs in the first half but despite points from Conor Heron. Ryan Kelly and Karl Hagan they trailed 2-3 to 0-8 at the break, Dan Lowe and Gerard O’Neill with the goals for the Harps.

The second half was  areal end to end spectacle with Heron, Tony Quinn, Hagan, Lowe and Macauley Quinn among the points for their respective sides. Moortown had their noses in front when Lowe held his nerve to convert a free with the last kick of the game to force extra time as it finished 2-11 to 0-17. Stewartstown subs Ronan O’Neill and Peter Armour both scored early on in extra time but Heron and Kelly kept Moortown in touch. Another Lowe brace helped his side lead 2-16 to 0-20 at halftime.

Two Lowe points doubled the Harps advantage before Moortown had Heron sent off. Kelly closed the gap from a free but Stewartstown held on to advanced to the last four of the LCC Intermediate championship on a 2-18 to 0-21 scoreline.
