Holders Back In Final

Errigal have given themselves the opportunity to be the first side since Carrickmore in 2005 to defend their Tyrone senior championship after a scintillating first-half performance was the foundation for an outstanding 2-19 to 0-7 victory over Ardboe that sets up a county final meeting with Trillick.
Ironically, Ardboe started best and had the game’s opening two scores through frees from Kyle Coney and Shay McGuigan, but that was as good as it got for the Rossas. Joe Oguz opened the Errigal account in the 11th minute with a point from a mark. From then to the half-time whistle, the pressure on the Ardboe kick out was relentless. Points from Peter Og McCartan, Tommy Canavan, and Go man of the match Darragh Canavan flowed as Errigal went through the gears. With the half about to finish, Joe Oguz punched to the net to give the champions a 14-point advantage.
The second half saw all of the Errigal full back line score, with Aidan McCrory registering a 36th minute goal after Darragh Canavan’s effort for a point came back of the post. Errigal used the opportunity to use their full quota of subs as they ran out hugely impressive winners.
