Holy Trinity College sent out an ominous warning that they are not going to give up their Markey Cup title without a fight as they overcame the challenge of Donegal side Rossas 2-16 to 1-04 at Castlederg this afternoon. This was a repeat of last year’s final but was a completely different game as the Tyrone school bossed the match from the throw in and were almost out of sight by the break leading 2-08 to 0-01 with their goals coming from Clnoe duo Daryll Magee and Danny Mc Nulty.
The second half saw some improvement from the Donegal lads but Holy Trinity continued to dominate the game and points from Declan Mc Clure, John Loughran and half back Matthew Hughes ensured they qualified comfortably for the semi final where they will face a much stiffer challenge from top Monaghan side Ballybay.
St Ciaran’s Ballygawley will hope to join Holy Trinity in the semi final when they meet Donegal champions Glenties in their quarter final game which takes place next Tuesday.
