All Ireland Vocational Schools champions Holy Trinity justified their favourites tag when they proved too strong for a gallant Colaiste na Carraige side in the Markey Cup semi final at Castlederg yesterday afternoon.

Kieran McGeary, Darren Devlin, Aidan McGinley and Ryan Gillespie had first half points for their respective sides with Daryl Magee finding the net at the end of the opening quarter as the holders led 1-7 to 0-4 at the break.

A goal from defender Conor Quinn more or less settled the issue although credit has to go to the Donegal lads who kept battling away with Eoin McHugh getting a couple of points and Philip McNern finding the net.

Holy Trinity though were always able to raise their game when they had to with James McGahan, Macaulay Quinn and Frank Burns all hitting points before the latter got an injury time goal to put a gloss on their victory. The holders now play St.Ciaran’s Ballygawley in an all Tyrone final which is a repeat of last season’s decider
