Holy Trinity Cookstown are back in another Danske Bank MacLarnon Cup final after an impressive 5-7 to 0-7 victory over Our Lady’s & St.Patrick’s Knock at Lurgan on Tuesday afternoon.  The Antrim lads led at the end of a low scoring opening quarter thanks to points from Niall Grimley and Liam O’Keefe, Shane Murphy having opened the scoring for Holy Trinity with a fabulous effort from fifty metres out.

In the 16th minute a Tiernan Mackle shot for a point sailed all the way to the net and Holy Trinity never looked back. Murphy converted a penalty after Mackle had been fouled and Mark Devlin and Tiarnan Quinn tagged on points for a 2-4 to 0-3 interval advantage.

Caolan Cunningham narrowed the gap on the restart but when centre half back Conor Donnelly got Holy Trinity’s third goal of the contest it was all over bar the shouting. Eunan Devlin won a penalty which Murphy again converted before substitute Thomas Mackle smashed in a brilliant goal to the roof of the net. Devlin added a couple of points as Holy Trinity marched through to the March 19th final where they will meet St.Eunan’s Letterkenny.
