The young Tyrone players who recently conquered the province in a number of underage categories will all have home advantage for their respective All-Ireland semi-final assignments against the champions of Connacht.
The semi-final ties involving Tyrone players will be split between Loughmacrory and Beragh next Saturday and Sunday, 24th and 25th March, with the last semi-final taking place in Beragh on 31st March.
It has generally been a successful season so far for Tyrone’s juvenile handball squad, with the county picking up more provincial titles than any other county, although several strong title hopefuls bowed out of the championships at the Ulster final stage in Kingscourt last weekend.
Among the best prospects of All-Ireland glory are Sean Kerr (under-14 singles), plus the boys and girls under-16 doubles teams, comprising Johnny Woods and Ryan Mullan, and Maeve McElduff and Aoife Kelly.
Every challenge at this stage of the juvenile season promises to be formidable but by the end of March Tyrone should have a good representation preparing to take part in this year’s All-Ireland juvenile finals in O’Loughlins, Kilkenny, on Sunday 8th April.
