All County League

Welcome to a new feature when we will be highlighting the top ten sharpshooters every weekend in the league in association with Nang Construction.

Aidan McSorley was the leading marksman at the weekend hitting a superb 2-7 to help Newtownstewart begin their Division three campaign with a narrow one point victory at Clann na Gael. Tyrone great Stephen O’Neill was in fine form for the hosts as well weighing in with 2-2 to make it into the top ten hotshots this week as well.

Connor McAliskey proved to be a real thorn to newly promoted Moy as the Tyrone attacker landed 1-9 in Clonoe’s comfortable win at home and that tally was matched by Cookstown veteran John Gilmore who scored 3-3 as the Father Rocks came from nine points down to draw 3-9 each at neighbours Moortown.

Former golden boot winner Niall Gavin demonstrated that he hasn’t lost his touch but despite finishing with 1-8 to his name Derrytresk still lost first day out at Urney. Ciaran Donnelly’s 1-7 played a key part in Brocagh’s victory at Killyman for who Enda McGahan kicked eight points.

Lorcan Mallon was one of only two players to score a hat trick of goals at the weekend but even his 3-1 return wasn’t enough to prevent Dungannon from losing at neighbours Eglish. Cathair Gallagher scored 0-9 as Loughmacrory drew away to Strabane while Kyle Coney’s 1-5 wasn’t enough to prevent Ardboe from losing narrowly at Killyclogher.
