Huge Play-off Game At Killyclogher
Saturday 01.11.2014
While much of the attention of Tyrone Gaels this weekend is focused on Ulster Club matters a significant number of GAA followers will make the trip to Killyclogher for Saturday afternoon’s winner takes all Division One play-off.
The game sees Eskra take on Trillick for the right to play Division One football in 2015. Trillick have been through a season which at one stage had them hot favourites for the intermediate league and championship double only to see both titles slip through their fingers.
Eskra on the other hand have found their first experience of senior football tough going but have shown themselves more than capable of holding their own. Their victory over Cookstown last time out will have given their self belief a considerable boost and that could prove significant in this end of season thriller.
Both teams have highly talented and creative players with Peter Hughes of Eskra and Matthew Donnelly of Trillick two of the best in the county. However games like these are usually decided by strong defences and Trillick showed last week just how important a well organised back line is.
This one looks like going right to the wire and even beyond. Trillick lost their place in Division One in the corresponding game last season and will be keen to put that right. However having worked their socks off to get to the position where a win in the final fixture of the season will keep them in the top flight Eskra will be well up for the challenge. Looks like being a cracker and we will be bringing live tweets from the match throughout.
