Hurlers record win at Clones..
Tyrone hurlers gained their opening win of the Division 3A programme
with a 2-14 to 0-15 victory over Monaghan on Sunday afternoon at St
Tiernach’s Park in Clones.
The visitors led at half-time by 1-8 to 0-7 after an early Kiefer
Morgan goal set them on their way but the Red Hands had to play the
remainder of the game with 14 after losing a man close to half-time.
Tyrone, though, maintained pole position with some good defensive work
and a run of points led by Damian Casey, Gary Fox and Aidan Kelly. Gary
Fox netted a second Tyrone goal midway through the final half, a score
that put enough daylight between the teams.
