Allianz Hurling League Div 3A
Tyrone 0-14 Sligo 1-18

Disappointment for Tyrone hurlers this evening and a case of what might well had been had they taken their chances especially in the opening 35 minutes.

The first half was dominated by some poor shot selection from both sides.  Tyrone being slightly the more guilty failing to raise the white flag on nine occasions as opposed to five wides from the Connacht men.

Sligo opened the scoring in the first minute thanks to a Finnian Cawley point from play but that early advantage was doubled when Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch opened his account with a free in the 7th minute.

Tyrone finally found their range at minute later thanks to a free from Damian Casey.  The Eoghan Ruadh man landing the score from a tight angle. Casey and Conor Grugan found the range again for Tyrone ahead of the water break and when play resumed Tiernan Morgan eased Tyrone into a two point lead by the 17th minute.

That lead became three in the 22nd minute as Casey sweeped over a 65.  O’Kelly-Lynch punished Tyrone’s inaccuracy in front of the sticks with two frees and with four minutes to the break Casey hit Tyrone’s sixth point.  Two more O’Kelly-Lynch frees brought the sides level at the short whistle.  Tyrone 0-6 Sligo 0-6.
