Tyrone and Donegal claimed a share of the points on Saturday in their Allianz League game with both sides possibly happy enough with the outcome but slightly disappointed not to have won. Aidan Kelly top scored for the home side while Gerard Gilmore fired over some wonderful points for the visitors finishing with nine of his team’s twenty points.

It was a close game from early on with Aidan Kelly opening the scoring for Tyrone after he himself had been fouled. Sean Mc Veigh, Brian Mc Intyre and Oisin Grant fired over points for Donegal but with Kelly leading the way Tyrone moved 0-6 to 0-4 ahead after sixteen minutes.

Donegal however began to get on top in the second quarter and a burst of scoring saw them move 0-9 to 0-7 ahead with time almost up at the end of the first half. Gilmore and Kelly swapped scores but Tyrone finished the half strongly with points from Lorcan Devlin and Kelly sending the teams off with the visitors leading 0-12 to 0-11.

Conor Gartland and Conor O’Grady got the ball rolling after the restart with early scores for Donegal as they threatened to pull away. Gilmore and Kelly swapped points once more to leave three in it but a goal from corner back  Seamus Sweeney gave Tyrone the lift they needed as the game was tied once more.

The shootout between Gilmore and Kelly continued  as both sides fought tooth and nail for the win. When Aidan Kelly pointed in injury time to level  the scores there was less than a minute left and both defences held firm to ensure a share of the points.
