Eoghain Ruadh man John Devlin has long been one of Tyrone’s Hurling’s most faithful servants and despite not making the Tyrone starting team these days the Dungannon goalkeeper has clearly shown that he’s always willing to help out in any way that he can.

Devlin was forced to take over the reigns of the Tyrone County Senior Hurling manager on Saturday last after Kevin Ryan indicated to the players that he was not going to be available for their crucial Nickey Rackard Cup game in Longford.  Despite being named as Tyrone Senior manager in January the Waterford native appears to have indicated that he would be managing a club side on the same day as Tyrone’s Nickey Rackard Cup game was due to take place.  Unfortunately Tyrone lost the game by just four points 4-18 to 3-17.

The result means that Tyrone will now take on Fermanagh in a relegation playoff to avoid the drop to the Lory Meagher Cup in 2017.  That game will take place on Saturday 21st May.  No doubt John Devlin will be available once again to manage the side if required for that fixture.
