Sunday 11.09.2011

Dungannon Aodh Ruadh 1-13 Strabane Shamrocks 2-12
Strabane Shamrocks have lifted the Tyrone Junior Hurling title for the first time since 2006. They defeated last years senior finalists Dungannon by 2-12 to 1-13. Gerard Gilmore showed his class by slotting late points to confirm the victory. He managed 0-7 (6 frees) on the day but Teamtalkmag.com reckon the man of the match should go to corner forward Mark Devine who put in an outstanding performance over the sixty plus minutes.
Now in injury time and Shamrocks now a point up thanks to the excellent Gerard Gilmore and a wonderful Niall Gallagher save from a Stephen Donnelly shot. Strabane 2-11 Dungannon 1-13
Dungannon are now in front 1-11 to 2-7 thanks to substitutes Peter McErlain’s goal.
Twenty minutes gone in the second half of the Tyrone Junior Hurling final and Shamrocks are well in the game and look capable of causing an upset.
Mark Devine got a tremendous goal for the Strabane men after a fine solo run and finish. Earlier in the match full forward Chris McDaid pounced on a mistake by Dungannon keeper John Devlin to put Shamrocks in control of the game.
However Damien Casey has steadied the Dungannon nerves with some fine points from play and through frees.
