Hurling Titles For Omagh and Eire Óg
Sunday 05.10.2025
The finals of the Tyrone Senior and Junior Hurling Championships took place on Sunday at Healy Park and after two highly competitive contests last minute goals decided the outcomes.
The titles went to Omagh St Endas in the Junior competition while Eire Óg made it six senior titles in a row.
Omagh reached the break in their gameleading by one 1-7 to 1-6 with their goal coming from Eoin Maguire just after NCC had hit the net themselves courtesy of a Vinny Mc Cann effort.

The second half saw Omagh on top as they extended their lead to three points with Tom Mc Clements and Liam Griffiths on target. NCC narrowed the gap with points from AJ Mc Cann and Gary Mulgrew but Omagh were now in control and added further points through frees from Mc Clements.
Leading 1-14 to 1-8 with five minutes remaining Omagh looked set for victory before NCC hit the net to reduce the gap to three. Nerves began to show as NCC pushed for the goal that would have taken the game to extra time but Omagh kept their goal intact before breaking themselves and affording Liam Griffiths the time and space to round the goalkeeper and finish the game on a final score of 2-14 to 2-9.

In the senior game Eire Óg found themselves four behind at the break 0-11 to 0-7. Eoghan Ruadh produced some fine first half hurling that saw Mickey Little hit five fine points from placed balls. The sides swapped points just after the break as Eire Óg sought to reduce the deficit while the Eoghan Ruadh lads Dungannon pushed to add to their tally.
Halfway through the second period and Eire Óg received the boost of a Dean Rafferty free going all the way to the net. But back came Eoghan Ruadh and points from Mickey Little and Turlough Mullin levelled the game once more. A Cain Ferguson point put the Dungannon side one in front as the clock ticked down.
Five additional minutes were announced and after Shea Munroe hit the levelling score Seamus Sweeney got the all important second goal that secured the win and with it the six in a row for Eire Óg.
