Tyrone minor Hurlers travelled to Leitrim on Saturday afternoon and completed a remarkable second half comeback to lift the Grade “C” All Ireland title defeating Mayo 2-12 to 1-10.

Things did not look good for the young Red Hands as they trailed at the break following a miserable opening thirty minutes. Mayo, buoyed by a goal from Sam Forde, led at the break 1-8 to 0-3 and looked destined for the win. However Tyrone showed remarkable character and courage to not only close the gap but to completely turn the game on its head after the break.

Goals from the irrepressible Brannan Molloy and John Campbell helped swing the tie in Tyrone’s favour as they restricted their opponents to only two second half points before emerging deserved five point winners on a final score line of 2-12 to 1-10.

Tyrone scorers: B Molloy 1-5 (0-4f)  J Campbell 1-0, P Daly 0-3, P McErlean 0-2, D O Donnghaile, C McNulty 0-1 each

Mayo scorers: S Forde 1-0, B Peoples 0-4, S Kenny 0-5 (2f, 1 ’65), P Lambert 0-1.
