IFC | Edendork Overcome Moortown To Book Quarter Final Spot

Edendork St Malachy’s booked their place in the quarter final of the Tyrone Intermediate Championship after a four point win over Moortown in Pomeroy on Friday evening. Edendork were three points to the good at the break 1-3 to 0-3 thanks to a very well taken goal from Darren McCurry. During that period Niall Morgan was also on the scoreboard for Edendork as was Tony Quinn and Ryan Kelly for Moortown.
After the break Edendork pulled away from Moortown and they had an eight point lead at one point. Brian McGuckin cooly directed home an excellent goal for Edendork midway through the half and points from Harry Og Conlon and Conn Kilpatrick looked certain to ease Edendork to a big win. Moortown didn’t roll over and late goals from Brian McLernon and Ryan Kelly left things a little uneasy for the eventual winners in the closing minutes. A word of praise though for Moortown defender Christopher McGuigan who had an excellent game for the losing team.
Final Score – Edendork 2-8 Moortown 2-4
