News was mixed on the injury front for Tyrone manager Mickey Harte this week prior to the announcement of the team to play Dublin in Sunday’s National League final. Key forward Peter Harte has not recovered sufficiently from the hamstring injury he sustained against Kildare and has not been selected. The absence of such an important player for the team in such a game will surely be felt.

However on the positive side utility man Joe Mc Mahon has overcome the groin problem he was struggling with and will now line out at left half forward. Big Joe’s return comes as a timely boost to the team as they prepare for their winner takes all clash in Croke Park.

The manager has continued to experiment with styles and approaches to the game throughout the league in the quest for the right blend as he prepares to take on Donegal in the championship. Sunday’s opponents will certainly ask enough questions of this Tyrone team and win or lose Mickey Harte will come away from Croke Park on Sunday with a clearer picture in his mind of what is required from his team if they are to beat Donegal in May.
