Coalisland became the last side to book their place in the quarter finals of the LCC Tyrone senior championship when they edged a thrilling clash with Dromore at Pomeroy on Sunday evening. It was a contest that kept the sizeable crowd on their toes throughout until corner back Dan Fee popped up with the winning point deep into injury time.

Cormac O’Hagan and the outstanding Padraig Hampsey put the wind assisted Fianna into an early lead but then Oran Sludden first timed the ball to the net at the other end of the field. Two Paddy McNiece frees levelled matters before Stephen McNally put the winners in front with a brilliant score from out on the left wing.  Sludden and Ciaran McCoy then scored as the lead changed hands before a Peter Herron point left it 1-3 to 0-6 at the interval.

In the first attack of the second half Niall Sludden put Dromore in front but the impressive Herron levelled matters with another beauty. Ronan McNabb and McCoy then put the St.Dympnas two in front before Hampsey kept Coalisland in touch. McNabb and Herron swapped points before Hampsey hit the score of the game, an outstanding effort with the outside of the boot, to level matters in the 54th minute.

McCoy palmed the ball over the bar for the lead score but a Bailey Leonrad free saw the sides on level terms again four minutes into injury time. Dromore substitute Colm MacRory was then unlucky to see his shot for a point come back off the post before a patient build up from Coalisland ended with that winning score from Fee.
