The remaining two semi final places in this season’s Power NI Intermediate championship are up for grabs at Healy Park this evening with an attractive double bill on the cards. First into action is the clash between Loughmacrory and title favourites Cookstown. The St.Theresas may be struggling in the legaue but they showed in the first round what they are cabable off when beating high flying Pomeroy and they will relish the underdogs tag again. Key players for them include John Gallagher, Mark McCullagh, Enda Ward, Ronan Ward and Stephen Donaghy.

Cookstown lead the way at the top of the division two and have the experience of winning an All Ireland title at this level a couple of seasons ago. In the first half of their opening round tie against Augher they played some superb football but in the second half they had to withstand a spirited St.Macartans comeback before advancing. If Owen Mulligan is ruled out with a hamstrong injury it will be a blow to the Father Rocks although they can still call on the services of quality performers such as Martin Murray, Stephen Monaghan, Ryan Pickering, Shea McGarrity and James McGahan.

The second game in the double bill brings together Galbally and Gortin in a repeat of last sesaon’s league promotion play off which was won by the St.Patricks. Both sides are struggling in the league but with a place in the last four at stake they will put their troubles behind them for sixty minutes at least. Last sesaon’s beaten finalists Galbally accounted for Aghyaran at the first hurdle and they will look for big displays here from Mickey Murphy, Paul Rafferty, Eamon McElroy, Terry Donnelly and Martin Brannigan.

Gortin may be joint second from bottom off the table but they demonstrated against neighbours Clann na Gael in the first round just what they are capable off on their day. Key players for Rodger Keenan’s side include Kevin Mossey, Diarmuid McNulty, Shane Clarke, Brian McGarvey and Paddy Northern.
