Jim Devlin Final Will Be Between Dromore And Donaghmore
Saturday 12.04.2025
Holders Dromore are just sixty minutes away from retaining the Jim Devlin Cup after they beat neighbours Trillick in their semi final while Donaghmore got past Eglish in the other last four clash in a battle of the St.Patricks.
Donaghmore made it into the decider after a penalty shootout win over Eglish at Father Devlin Park. Donaghmore scored all four goals in the first half of normal time to enable them to lead 4-4 to 0-7. Phillip Donnelly, Oisin Howell, Rian McAshea and Conor Cush all found the net with Seamus Muldoon, Luke Donnelly and Colm Byrne providing points for the visitors.
In the second half Eglish came storming back with Luke Donnelly converting four 2 point frees with Conor McCann also grabbing a 2 pointer. Cush scored a few points with Niall McKenna also on target as it finished 0-21 to 4-9 at normal time. A Mattie McGleenan point helped Eglish shade the first half of extra time but efforts from the Cush brothers Conor and Ryan ensured it ended all square before Donaghmore won the penalty shoot out.
A Paidi Dillon hat trick proved decisive to the outcome of this Jim Devlin Cup semi final between Trillick and Dromore. Two of Dillon’s goals came in the last two minutes of the game just when extra time was looking likely.
James Garrity hit the net early in the first half for Trillick and the home side held the lead until Odhran Sludden fired to the net on eighteen minutes leaving the sides tied at 1-4 apiece. Then came the first of Paidi Dillon’s goals when he converted a twentieth minute penalty which sent the teams in at the break with Dromore leading 2-7 to 1-6.
Defences held sway for most of the second half with Charlie Donnelly pointing for Trillick and Odhran Sludden on target for the holders. A brace of two pointers from Lee Brennan tied the score late in the game but Dromore prevailed courtesy of Dillon’s late double.
Final score: Dromore 4-8, Trillick 1-11
