At the Masters AGM on Saturday in Longford Joe Leonard was elected as Vice President of the Gaelic Masters Association. Each of the the participating counties were represented and all were involved in the decision that saw Joe elected to the position of VP.

Masters Chairman John Pat Sheridan in his address spoke of the Masters being 30 years in existence this year. The concept was originally started by the legendary Dr. Mick Loftus who is now honorary president of the GMA. John Pat went on to say that in those 30 years one man has been there through it all from playing in the inaugural final in 1990 right up to the present day. That man of course was Tyrone and Castlederg’s Joe Leonard.

He went on to congratulate Joe on his efforts in promoting Masters football and his unwavering support to the association. John Pat proposed that Joe should hold be awarded the position of Vice President of the Masters Association which was unanimously carried by all in attendance.

On behalf of TTM we congratulate Joe and share in the pride he and his family must surely feel following the awarding of this honour. It is a proud moment for Joe his family and all who have shared this journey with the Tyrone Masters.
