Junior Championship Semi finals

The junior championship semi finals took place as a double header under lights at Eoghan Ruadh.

The opener featured Greencastle’s Father Shields club and Éire Óg. Carrickmore certainly came in as favourites as they have been playing in the Senior League this year and have a considerably larger panel to draw from. They quickly took control, with Niamh McElduff and Cora McEvoy making the most of the scoring chances early on. Éire Óg have been able to rotate their team as they have taken part in both the Tyrone and Armagh leagues and they showed plenty of skill, experience and fitness. Fr Shields continued to battle with the defence continually under pressure. It took until the last ten minutes for newcomer to Tyrone Sammy McKillion to convert a free to get her team on the scoreboard and it will be Éire Óg who deservedly take their spot in next week’s Junior Final.
