For the second championship game in a row Martin Rodgers hit 1-5 and that was enough to take him to the top of the junior scoring charts but he is unlikely to stay there after Beragh bowed out at the hands of Fintona last Friday night. Niall Mellon scored a brace for the Pearses and that was enough to promote him into the scoring charts but with Derrytresk and Killeeshil being kept apart in the semi final draw the junior championship top scorer award looks to be between Niall Gavin, Ciaran Bannon and Shane Mallon although no doubt Errigal Ciaran Thirds trio Emmett Hackett, Michael Harte and Damian McDermott as well as Mellon will have something to say about that.
