Derrylaughan are through to the semi final of the grade one U21 championship after a surprise but fully merited win over Errigal Ciaran at Dunmoyle on Saturday afternoon. The Kevin Barrys laid the foundations for their victory in the first half as they established a 0-6 to 0-1 interval advantage with Fergal McAliskey and Shea Coney getting all but one of their tally between them, Ryan Lynch the sole Errigal Ciaran marksman. Three further Lynch points reduced the deficit on the restart before the crucial score of the contest arrived in the tenth minute when Ciaran Gervin set up his brother Liam for the only goal of the game. The home side hit back though with points from Peter Harte, Lynch and substitute Darren Canavan but it was Derrylaughan who had the final say of the contest with an injury time McAliskey point as they won on a 1-8 to 0-8 score line. Derrylaughan’s reward is a semi final meeting with holders Omagh while Ardboe take on Eglish in the other semi.
