Kildress were a point ahead of Edendork at half time in tonight’s Power NI Intermediate Championship.  Des Treacy opened the scoring for Kildress in the second minute but his score was quickly wiped out two minutes later after a superb free from Niall Morgan.    Conor McAleer popped over a point in the 5th minute to put the Wolfe Tones ahead again and they could have extended that lead if not for a wonderful Mark McReynolds save.  Martin Grimes and Aidan O’Connor fired over another point each for Kildress to bring the score to 0-4 to 0-1.  The game then entered a fairly quiet spell before Des Treacy and Philip Lennon put Kildress five clear in the 24th minute.

Then came the score of the game.  John McGuckin won a ball he had no right to win and broke through three Kildress defenders to smash to the back of the net.  The final score of the half saw Darren McCurry clip over a point in injury time.  Half Time Score Kildress 0-6 Edendork 1-2

Edendork were quickly back on level terms through a massive Niall Morgan free from 55 metres before Kildress were dealt a body blow through the sending off of Philip Lennon (2nd yellow).  Frank McGurk put Kildress back in the lead with a huge point into the breeze in the 39th minute before they were awarded a penalty midway through the half thanks to a footblock via Mark McReynolds.  Martin Grimes converted the spot kick to leave the score Kildress 1-7 Edendork 1-3.

Edendork took control of the game after this point and used their numerical advantage to level the game with two minutes to go thanks to points from McCurry, Morgan, substitute Brian McGuckin and Chris McCurry.  However as the game entered the closing seconds the excellent Damien Kelly won a free and Des Treacy kicked over a superb point from way out on the right hand side into a stiff breeze to win the game. Final Score Kildress 1-9 Edendork 1-8
