Kildress Ladies Defeat Drumragh

Drumragh ladies suffered their second reverse when they wet down 1-22 to 3-5 to a very good Kildress side. The opening exchanges were even with Kildress taking an early lead thanks to a brace by Maeve Conway. Katherine McCrory lead he response for Drumragh scoring a point from Neamh Wood’s incisive pass Kildress opened a useful lead with points by the excellent Alice McNally and Angela Monaghan before Clodagh Loughran and Katherine McCrory (2) narrowed the gap. With half time approaching Kildress led by three when Katherine McCrory goaled after good work by Sinead McLaughlin. Drumragh passed up several good opportunities before Kildress eased in front with points from Maeve Conway and Angela Monaghan to leave the half time score Drumragh 1-5 Kildress 0-10.

Kildress opened the second half with a couple of unanswered points before a Sinead McLaughlin goal brought Drumragh back into the game. However, Kildress kept adding points from Monaghan, McNally and Stacey Rafferty before a second McCrory goal offered some hope to the home side. However a McNally goal extinguished Drumragh’s faint hopes of a comeback. Kildress eased further ahead and in the end ran out comfortable winners. The scoreline was a bit harsh on the homework who struck the woodwork three times. Best for the home side were Aisling Mullan and Joanne Barrett in defence while Katherine McCrory led the line superbly well supported by Neamh Woods. The visitors were best served by Alice McNally who top scored with 1-6, Angela Monaghan and the midfield pairing of Stacey Rafferty & Sarah Lennon.
