A large crowd and a superb set up welcomed Kildress and Derrytresk to their LCC Junior Championship replay in Stewartstown on Thursday evening.

Both teams played some superb football with excellent scores, last ditch goal line clearances and quality play throughout.

Kildress were quick to settle and with Matthew Mc Guigan and Conor Quinn linking well they had the Derrytresk defence chasing shadows at times. Mc Guigan finished the first half with 0-5 while full forward Caolan Mc Namee bagged the all important goal for The Wolfe Tones in the twentieth minute to put his team five clear.

Derrytresk needed a response and with Niall Gavin in fine form they reached half time 1-8 to 0-6 behind.

The Hill Men began the second half fired up and added two further points from the boot of full forward Gavin. However Kildress introduced Adam Connolly and his pace and trickery caused no end of problems for their opponents. Connolly, Mc Guigan, Conor Quinn and Phillip Lennon all added points as Kildress began to pull away. Niall Gavin did his best to keep his team in the contest hitting four points in the second half but Kildress were not to be denied and they finished the game strongly with points from Eoin Brannigan, Mattie Mc Guigan and Conor Quinn.
