Killeeshil’s hopes of becoming Ulster junior champions dissipated here in Armagh this evening as they lost out 1-6 to 0-6 to Monaghan side Emyvale.
The Tyrone champions opened the scoring through Gary Reilly and led 0-3 to 0-1 after sixteen minutes with points from Kevin Hughes and Shane Mallon. However Emyvale hit 1-2 without reply in the closing ten minutes of the first half to reach the break 1-6 to 0-6 ahead.
The Tyrone side needed to begin the second half strongly but in spite of lots of endeavour and no shortage of hard work Emyvale managed to keep them at arm’s length. In a low scoring half late points from Mc Alister and Colton ensured that the Ulster Junior Championship was won by the Monaghan side on a final score of 1-6 to 0-6.
