Friday evening’s senior championship double header at Clanabogan resulted in big wins for Killeeshil and Errigal Ciaran and sees both sides progressing to the last four.

Killeeshil proved far too strong for a gallant Clan na nGael outfit with goals from Shannon Stevenson, Niamh Mc Cool, Zoe Loughran and Grainne Rafferty easing the St Mary’s to victory.  A special mention must go to Zoe Loughran who did not score in the first half but bagged three goals and a point in a very impressive second thirty minutes.

The Errigal Ciaran versus Sperrin Og game was a closer affair but was never in doubt as Errigal’s exciting forward line created some excellent scores in a very dominant first half. Indeed had it not been for at least four superb stops by the Sperrin Og goalkeeper Michaela Gillen the margin of defeat could have been greater.  Ailise Gormley, Ciara Quinn, Lycrecia Quinn and Maria Canavan all found the net while Niamh O’Neill and Kim Mc Cullagh both goaled for Sean Teague’s team.

Errigal will now face Macartans in the semi final while Killeeshil will have to wait for the outcome of the Strabane v Aodh Ruadh quarter final. The remainder of the championship quarter finals will be completed over the rest of the weekend.
