Killeeshil Ladies Emerge Victorious Over Errigal

Killeeshil ladies have advanced to a senior league final following a tremendous victory over recently crowned county champions Errigal Ciaran in Dunmoyle on Sunday evening.
Killeeshil started brightly kicking the first two points of the game courtesy of Grainne Rafferty and a fine individual effort from Caitlin Campbell. The first half was developing into a war of attrition with scores at a premium.
Errigal however finished the half strongly with 3 points in the last 10 minutes before the break to lead at half time by 0-03 to 0-02.
Errigal wasted no time kicking the opening point of the 2nd half to increase their lead to 2.
That lead however was quickly cancelled out following 2 well worked Killeeshil points from Orla Mulgrew and Caitlin Campbell.
Killeeshil responded to a further Errigal point with the 1st goal of the game expertly despatched to the net by Aine McRory.
A length of the field move superbly finished by Bronagh McKenna gave Killeeshil their 2nd goal in quick succession to take control of the game and lead by 5.
A late Grainne Rafferty goal responded to by a final Errigal Ciaran point saw Killeeshil run out 7 point winners on a final scoreline of 3-05 to 0-07.
Killeeshil had superb performances throughout the field in what was a real team effort.
The victory has earned Killeeshil a league final spot v St.Macartan’s next weekend.
