Killeeshil made it two wins from two games as they wound up their 2020 ACL campaign on Wednesday evening with a narrow one point win over Drumragh at Clanabogan. The home side will wonder how they did not manage to get something from this game especially after a Kevin Marron high ball into the square with five minutes remaining caused mayhem in the Killeeshil defence but somehow the ball did not cross the line.

Tomas Hoy opened the scoring in Killeeshil’s first attack but Drumragh responded positively to hit four of the next five points to lead 0-4 to 0-2 after twelve minutes. Shane Cleary (2) and Tommy Murphy (2) with the Sarsfields’ scores. Killeeshil then hit three unanswered scores to move ahead with Hoy again on target and Jason Doyle and Pascal Donaghy knocking over points.

Drumragh finished the half strongly with points from Tommy Murphy, Eamon Mc Cann and Ronan Mc Gale to go in at the break leading 0-7 to 0-5.

The second half was a very competitive thirty plus minutes but both teams lacked composure in the scoring zone. Drumragh managed only two points in the second half with Murphy and Cleary on target. Killeeshil were equally as profligate but did manage to hit the net midway through the half with Jason Doyle the man credited with the score.

That goal proved decisive and in spite of considerable Drumragh pressure Killeeshil held on to win on a final score of 1-7 to 0-9.
