Killyclogher Ease Into Last Eight

Killyclogher fully justified their favourites tag at Pearse Park in Galbally on Sunday afternoon when they eased past Derrylaughan on a 2-8 to 0-5 scoreline in the opening round of the LCC Tyrone senior championship.

The winners had the wind at their backs in the first half but at the end of the opening quarter they only led 0-3 to 0-2 with Mark Bradley, Tiernan McCann, Stephen McGrath and Liam Gervin the scorers for their respective sides. Killyclogher then took over with Bradley and Simon O’Neill hitting points before a speculative high ball in from the left wing from defender Martin Swift sailed all the way to the net to leave it 1-6 to 0-2 at the break.

Bradley and McGrath exchanged points on the restart before Gervin narrowed the gap for the Kevin Barrys. Bradley and Fergal McAliskey swapped points for the Kevin Barrys but it was Killyclogher who had the final say when defender Gabhan Sludden thumped home a brilliant goal.
