Killyclogher will play Coalisland in a repeat of the 2016 senior championship final after they overcame Ardboe after extra time in Carrickmore on Sunday afternoon. Shay McGuigan opened the scoring from a free for the Rossas before Simon O’Neill fisted the equaliser. In the 19th minute Killyclogher midfielder PT Cunningham palmed the ball to the net but McGuigan responded with a major at the other end of the field before the same player knocked over a free to give his side a 1-2 to 1-1 interval lead. During that first half Ardboe keeper Ronan Cassidy made wonderful saves to deny both Mark Bradley and O’Neill.

In the early stages of the second half Killyclogher were dealt a blow when they lost Mark Bradley to injury before O’Neill and McGuigan traded points. David Mulgrew, McGuigan and Kyle Coney all weighed in with points to put the Loughshore men three in front with six minutes left to play. Ardboe were in control at this stage but a minute into injury time Conall McCann levelled matters when he flicked an O’Neill free to the net. Tiernan McCann then hit a brilliant point with his weaker left foot but with the last kick of the game McGuigan forced extra time as it finished 1-7 to 2-4.

Matthew Murnaghan and McGuigan exchanged points in the first period before efforts from James Carlin and Nathan Donnelly left Killyclogher two in front at the turnaround. Murnaghan had the opening score of the second period and while Coney cancelled that out from a free Tiernan Cox had the final say for Killyclogher as it finished 2-9 to 1-9.
