It is just half time at Killyman and the home side find themselves in a fairly strong position as they hold a three point lead over Strabane on a score line of 0-8 to 0-5 but with thirty minutes left and relegation for the losers there is still all to play for.

Well it may have looked good for Killyman at the break but Strabane showed all their experience and craft to narrowly defeat the home side 2-09 to 0-14. The decisive score came from a penalty awarded deep into stoppage time which was converted by Strabane talisman JP Gallagher as the Sigersons battled their way to a narrow win. This result condemns Killyman to junior football for 2012 and in spite of the best efforts of Michael Donnelly 0-6, Ciaran Og Hughes 0-3 and Enda Mc Gahan they were unable to escape the relegation trap door. The winners did come close to getting  a couple of goals early in the second half but the chances were lost following good defensive work. When their first goal came it was somewhat fortuitous as it appeared to take a deflection from JP Gallagher’s shot . The Sigersons were still two behind in injury time when referee Eugene Mc Connell awarded them that late penalty which Gallagher coolly slotted to the net. Killyman did have time and another opportunity to draw it level but Strabane defended manfully to hold on for a narrow win.
