There were wins in the Ladies Championship on Friday night for Ardboe, Sperrin Óg and Trillick.

There was little between Ardboe and Mna na Deirge on Friday night and extra time was required before the Loughshore girls emerged victorious on a score line of 2-20 to 3-11. A Roisin Devlin penalty helped the Derg girls lead at half time 2-2 to 1-4. The second half saw both defences on top and with scores hard to come by it was no surprise that it finished all square Ardboe 1-11 Castlederg 2-8. Extra time saw Ardboe use their bench wisely and with Annie Devlin hitting the net, Hannah Lydon landing four points and Erin Forbes three they won through on a final score of 2-20 to 3-11. Laura Mc Sorley 1-4, Roisin Devlin 1-3 and Amelia Coyle 1-2 were among the scores for the Derg girls.

Niamh O’Neill once again led the line for the Greencastle girls with a personal tally of 2-9 while Meagan Clarke (1-3) and Ciara Fox (0-3) both made significant scoring contributions. Sperrin Óg were indebted to goalkeeper Kim Mc Cullagh who was outstanding and made several top class saves to keep out the Donaghmore attack. Donaghmore took a while to settle but following the first water break their really got their act together after trailing 1-8 to 0-4. Goals from Niamh Mc Nulty and Emma Hegarty brought Donaghmore back into the game and at half time they had reduced the gap to a single point 1-10 to 2-6. Sperrin Óg got their second goal straight from the throw in with Niamh O’Neill once more hitting the net. Boosted by their good start they added another goal. Donaghmore bounced back with further goals from Michaela Mc Guigan and Emma Hegarty but it just was not enough to deny Sperrin Óg the win on a final score of 3-18 to 4-9.

Trillick defeated neighbours Fintona in a high scoring game in which Trillick substitute Mya Williamson played a central role. She converted a penalty shortly after entering the game following a strong run by Dearbhaile Gallagher. The same player added a second three minutes later as The Reds reached the break leading 2-7 to 0-4. Fintona had their hands full coping with the pace and movement of the Trillick forward line. As usual Nichola Donnelly was central to everything the Pearses did. She finished with 0-9 while Sarah Toal and Nicole Sweeney were also on target. Trillick continued to dominate and second half goals from Williamson and Emma Brennan helped seal the win on a final score of 4-15 to 12 points.
