Ladies Football: Adult League Fixtures/Preview.
The Tyrone ladies adult leagues will begin this weekend with clubs throughout the county keen to get started again. The full programme has been altered as the Tyrone minors will be on duty in Strabane against Armagh in the Ulster championship.
Junior B clubs will open the weekend’s action with two Saturday fixtures. Game of the weekend in the senior league is a repeat of last year’s senior county final as An Charraig Mhor host St Macartans on Sunday evening. Both teams have injury issues though ahead of the weekend. The return to fitness of Maura Kelly is a boost for the visitors although that’s countered by Joline Donnelly’s elbow injury which rules her out.
Errigal Ciaran will be keen to open their campaign at St Dympna’s while Aodh Ruadh are keen to build on underage success from last year. They feel they should be challenging for honours in league and championship and they open at home to Glenelly while Ardboe are away to Cill Iseal.
All Ireland junior club finalists Omagh return to the Intermediate grade in search of a good start away to Trillick. After the disappointment of losing in that replay the St Endas returned to training eager to kick on and have been boosted by the news that several former players have returned to their ranks.
Cappagh have been weakened with no minor side this term but that will not deter them in the second tier as they welcome Aghyaran to Ballinamullan. Moy face Beragh while Clan Na Gael still without a couple of regulars make the journey to Cookstown to take on Fr Rocks.
The Battle for supremacy in the junior grades will be eagerly watched. There’s little between any of the sides although it would be expected Sperrin Og, Drumragh, Fintona and Sigersons will be in the mix with Edendork fancied to be key performers in Junior B.
The second round of the adult leagues are fixed for next Thursday and Friday.
