Errigal Ciaran made the long trek down to Castlederg on Saturday morning for the second round of the league and they secured another victory.
The Mna Na Deirge girls tallied up 1 – 1, Aimee Arnold opened up with the first point & then Caoimhe Brogan scored the goal before the opposition hit their 1st goal in the 7th minute from Grainne Mc Donald and followed that up another goal a few minutes later. Goalscorer Grainne Mc Donald Lauren Kavanagh & Rachel Farrell were highly influential throughout the first half. The home team missed a goal chance & a possible point came off the crossbar. Aimee Arnold scored another great point before Roisin Devlin added another from a free. The home defence kept working hard throughout to keep their side in the game. Half time score : Mna Na Deirge 1 – 4 & Errigal Ciaran 3 – 7.
Errigal’s Megan Mc Clenaghan was very strong in the second half increasing their lead. Once again the Derg girls battled on with both goalie Sarah Campbell & Aimee Arnold preventing scores while Chloe White also had an outstanding game. In the last minutes the home side found their shooting boots to score 3 – 2, one goal arising from Roisin Devlin’s penalty success.

Round 2 of the minor league saw Sperrin Og see off Carrickmore on a comfortable scoreline of 9-20 to 1-6, with the majority of the scores coming from Claire Tuohey and Rachel McAleer with impressive tallies of 5-7 and 3-4 respectively. The defence was also on form with Lauren Hollywood, Carla McCann and Caoileann Conway excelling while goalkeeper Chloe Donnelly pulled off an excellent save to stop a Carrickmore penalty. Sperrin Og were dominant throughout the game with outstanding performances from midfielder Rebecca Coyle and forwards Aileen Tuohey and Michaela Gillen both of whom got their names on the scoresheet.

Aghaloo vs Owen Roes
1.5-7.7
With a long journey to Aughnacloy the Owen Roes girls managed to bag the 2 points. The visitors began well with Amy Rose opening the scoring with 1-1 early in the half before Niamh Christy netted again. Some great support play between Chloe Devine and Kelsey McNulty led to further scores from Racheda Kelly, Emer McAleer and Chloe Devine.
The strong Owen Roes defence ensured Aghaloo chances were kept to a minimum with only a point from Kimberley Silveira. This left the half time score 5-5 to 0-1 in the Owen Roes favour.
The second half saw the Aghaloo keeper Hope O’Neill making two great saves to deny Chloe Devine. Chloe Devine, Daragh Brady, Gemma Coyle, Courtney Devine, Tara Donaghey and Laura Devine worked hard to ensure the visitors headed down the road with the points but they had goalkeeper Niamh Barr to thank for denying Aghalooo at least two goals.
The game ended 7.7 to 1-5 in favour of Owen Roes.

Aghyaran were on their travels again as they took on Galbally. The home side got off to a flying start hitting 3 goals & 2pts without reply. Aghyaran found the pace tough as the home side continued to add scores to their total. The St Davogs eventually opened their account well into 1st half with an Aimee Coyle. When the half time whistle sounded Galbally led 4-4 to 2-1.
The Aghyaran girls came out fighting in the 2nd half getting the first couple of scores on the board to close the gap at one stage to 3pts. Galbally however re-grouped and with goalkeeper Laura Kane in excellent form they held on to win comfortably.
Scorers Galbally; Katie McKenna 3-1, Sarah Carberry 2-4, Maeve McGlinchey 2-3, Claire McGlinchey 1-0, Aime Kane & Alanna McKeown 1pt each.

Strabane 1.04 Rock 7.10
Another fine performance from the Rock’s defence meant this game wasn’t as close as many had expected it to be and ensured that they maintained their fine start to the season. The winners were very accurate in possession with all the Rock forward line and both midfielders scoring. Rebecca Mackle (1.02), Chloe Crilly (3.05) and Molly Mackle all found the target for the winners while the other goals came from Elaine Ward and Rebecca Moran. The remaining scores came from Cara Hayden (0.02) Caitlin Mallon (0.01) and Lucy Mackle (0.01)
