It may be approaching Christmas but the new inter county management teams in Tyrone are already busy preparing for the new year. Minor trials began last weekend while senior and Under 16 trials begin this weekend.

The county board have confirmed new management teams in three squads while county chairman Martin Conway remains in charge of the Under 14 set up. Paddy Fox and Tony McVeigh form the under 16 management, Louise Daly and Pius Fox will take charge of the minors while Martina Dillon heads up a new look senior management team that replaces Niall Colton and Colm Donnelly

The Dungannon club woman had previously taken charge of the county minors that claimed an Ulster minor crown and just fell short in an all Ireland minor final. Dillon has organised trials for this coming Sunday and has set out a schedule of trials leading into the Dowd cup that will help her and her back room team select a squad for the start of the National Football League.

Clubs have been asked to nominate players of senior county standard with the trials  open to any player who has played county football at any age group in the past few years, including members of the last four county minor teams and all members of the 2010 senior county panel. The response has been good so far confirmed the new woman in charge but players unable to attend should contact the manager or County Secretary Maggie Skelton as soon as possible ahead of Sunday’s first trial.

Tyrone face Monaghan in their opening National League fixture and it’s expected there will be several new faces drafted in to the Tyrone squad. An official launch of all the Tyrone squads will go ahead at the start of the new year with potential new sponsors also set to be in place.

 TYRONE UNDER AGE TRIALS

The minor trials continue on  Sunday from 12.30pm to 2pm in Youth Sport Omagh while the Omagh venue also hosts the Under 16 trials on Friday evening with starting time 7pm and running until  8.30pm. Players interested in playing should contact Maggie Skelton .

Clubs have been asked to ensure players are informed and are transported to the trials.

The County Secretary meanwhile  issued the following statement this week

“Due to the adverse weather conditions that we had the last fortnight and with Christmas next weekend there will be no County Board Meeting in December The next County Board meeting will be on Tuesday 11th January 2011.”

The Executive held interviews for the management positions for the various County Teams and the following were appointed:
