Drumragh senior ladies moved on to the championship semi-final with a win over Aghaloo in the quarter-final in Galbally at the weekend.
Beth Donaghy top scored for Drumragh with 2-7, with Aine McManus, Neamh Cleary, Dana Coyle, Caoimhe McCarron and Grace O’Neill also on target.
Joanne Barrett, Caitlin McCarron and Evie Gallagher performed well in defence for Drumragh, while midfielders Coblaith McKenna and Neamh Cleary played big roles in the win.
Drumragh will face Clann na nGael in the semi-final.
On Sunday evening Cookstown travelled to Greencastle to face Aghyaran in the quarter final of the intermediate championship. The previous league encounter between these two teams, saw Aghyaran take the points with a lot to spare, however Cookstown were adamant that this was not going to happen again.
Within the first 30 seconds of the game Cookstown were already 1-1 up with a goal from midfielder Darcey Hamill and Cookstown continued to work hard in all areas of the field from the goalkeeper right through to the forward line, adding a further 3 goals in the first half- 2 from Aoibhinn Devlin and 1 from Laura McGillion. A very impressive first half performance saw the half time score finish; 4-12 to 1-4.
Aghyaran started the second half on a much brighter note adding a score direct from the throw in. However Cookstown continued with their hard work, with great defending from the back line, they mananged to keep Aghyaran to 6 points. In terms of attacking Cookstown only hit 5 points in the second half, so that good first half performance proved crucial.
