Kildress 7-25 Urney 2-00

Kildress enjoyed a very comfortable win over Urney in their Division 3B game. The Wolfe Tones were in command all over the field and produced a very impressive team performance. Indeed so dominant were they that they held Urney scoreless in the first half while hitting 3-12 by the short whistle. Kildress got off to a good start in the second half getting a few early points before Urney responded getting 2 goals in quick succession. However Kildress regained their composure and finished the game strongly to land some excellent second half scores. Indeed had it not been for some magnificent saves by the Urney goalkeeper the final score could have been even higher.

St Macs enjoyed a fine eight point win away to Glenelly on Friday night after an entertaining hour of football. The Clogher Valley girls opened the scoring with a goal and a point from county star Cathy Donnelly. Glenelly were struggling to create scoring opportunities and only found the target twice in the opening half to reach the break with 1-1. Macartans were sharper and more accurate and with Kirsty Mc Caughey, Shauna Mc Girr and Joline Donnelly on target they went in at half time leading 1-9 to 1-1.
Glenelly were much improved after the break and an early goal and a point gave them hope. However even though they added a third goal it was Macartans who finished stronger with a goal from Niamh Mc Girr and points from Cathy and Joline Donnelly to win convincingly 2-13 to 3-2.

Beragh defeated Clan na Gael 5-9 to 2-16 in a highly entertaining league fixture on Friday nght. The Red Knights’ scorers were Megan Mc Nelis-1pt, Colleen Mc Sorley-1-3, Claire Mc Donald-1-0, Jane Ward-0-2, Roisin Mc Sorley-3-2 and Karen Gorman-1-1. The second half saw a great come back by Clan na Gael with Carol Dooher particularly prominent for them.

Aghyaran overcame a resolute Fintona Pearses side 8-8 to 3-7 at home in a game that was fairly close in the first half. However when the home side introduced Clara Mc Menamin after the break the game swung very much in their favour.

Aghyaran opened the scoring with A.McMenamin finding the net only for that score to be cancelled out a minute later by Fintona’s CC McMullan who found the net for the visitors. The first half continued score for score and as the half time whistle sounded Aghyaran could count themselves fortunate to be three points in front.

The second half saw Clara McMenamin introduced for Aghyaran into defence with Kellie Meehan also switched back into centre half back from midfield and these changes transformed the shape of the team and the outcome of the game. Aghyaran went on a scoring spree hitting 4-5 without reply from Fintona. The last 5 minutes saw Fintona record their first point of the second half as the home side took the foot off the pedal somewhat and allowed the visitors in for three further points before the referee Frank Sweeney ended the game. Scores for Fintona N.Donnelly 1-2, R.Donnelly 0-3, CC McMullan 1-0, M.Cunningham, S.Kelly, M.Donnelly all 0-1 each.
