A strong 1st half performance laid the platform for Killeeshil’s victory at home to Cookstown. Goals from Grainne Rafferty and a superb individual effort from Chloe Collins helped the home team to a 2-08 to 0-01 lead at the break.

Cookstown fought back in the 2nd half but goals from debutant Aine McRory and a fine solo effort from captain Zoe Loughran stretched the Killeeshil lead further. Louise Kelly and Laura Canning along with Grainne Rafferty added to Killeeshil’s points total in the 2nd half.
A solid all round team effort from Killeeshil on the night to claim their 1st league win of the season.
Fintona and Sperrin Óg served up a high scoring and exciting game with the Pearses ability to plunder goals proving decisive. They led at the break 3-4 to 0-7 and finished up deserving 4-8 to 0-12 winners. Their first half goals came from Aoife Mc Gillion and Aoife Wilson (2)  while Caitlin Donnelly in goals produced a couple of superb stops. The Sperrin Óg girls worked hard throughout with Emma McElarney and Rebecca Coyle performing well in defence. Leah McGuigan and Laura Lee O’Donnell were both strong at breaking forward while the off the ball movement of Eimear Tracey in the forward line was impressive. Fintona’s fourth goal of the game came from ace forward Aoife Wilson.
Scorers: Meaghan Clarke 0-07, Leah McGuigan 0-02, Eimear Tracey 0-01, Caoimhe Warnock 0-01
Orla Coyle 0-01
Wind advantage in the first half allowed Kildress to build up an impressive first half lead of 1-9 to 0-3 over Ardboe. However a brace of early second half goals from the Loughshore girls  helped make a real game of it after the break. Ardboe really applied the pressure towards the end but a resolute KIldress defence stood strong and made sure of the win on a final score of 1-13 to 2-8.
Ardboe 2- 8
Trillick produced a very impressive team performance to record their first ever league victory over Carrickmore winning on a final score of 4-10 to 1-5. The Reds started in a hurry hitting 2-2 inside the opening fifteen minutes. Shauna Mc Gurren bagged the first goal with the second a rebound effort from the quick thinking Cathleen Kelly. The same player hit her team’s third goal when she lofted a lovely effort into the top corner of the net. Amy Mc Ginn showed great accuracy hitting five points over the hour while also bagging Trillick’s fourth goal of the game. Defensively Trillick were resolute keeping Carrickmore scoreless in the second half with Maura Barrett impressive between the sticks.

Glenelly 2-12 Aghyaran 4-8
This was very much a game of two halves with the first half quite close and low scoring. After a competitive thirty minutes Aghyaran led six points to Glenelly’s five. Aghyaran lost Katie Byrne to the sin bin just before the break but even with fourteen players they more than held their own and when Sasha Byrne converted a penalty early in the second half that gave them the confidence to push on and win. After a very exciting game Aghyaran emerged two point winners.
Scores Aghyaran: S. Byrne 1-2, M.MCHugh 1-1, A.Byrne 3pts, C Byrne & T MCHugh 1-0 each, K Byrne 2pts
Glenelly: M. O’Hagan 1-2, C.Kennedy & M. Kennedy 3pts each, S.Kirk 1-0, A. O’Kane 2pts & A. Coyle & M.C. Loughrey 1pt each

Drumragh took on Tattyreagh in their parish derby game running out narrow 1-9 to 0-7 winners. The Sarsfields defended well over the course of the hour with Mia Gallagher, Clodagh Mc Keever and Claire Mc Gread prominent throughout. In tight games such as these goals are always important and Caoimhe Mc Carron did well to finish a fine move involving Joanne Barrett and and Nicola Taggart to the net for the only goal of the game while Beth Donaghy and Rihanna Mullin kicked some brilliant points.

Drumragh scorers: Caoimhe McCarron 1-1, Beth Donaghy 0-3, Rihanna Mullin 0-2, Joanne Barrett 0-2, Nicola Taggart 0-1

Edendork made the long trip to Loughmacrory for round three of the league.  The home side started the game well with three unanswered points. Edendork soon settled to the task and opened their account with a free from Maeve Maxwell which they followed up shortly after with a goal from Emma Connolly to send the sides off at the break with Edendork leading 2-6 to 0-7.

The St. Malachy’s got the second half off to a strong start with Laura Kelly striking to the back of the Loughmacrory net. Loughmacrory upped the intensity level but Edendork defended strongly to keep out the goal threats with some fine saves from goal keeper Kelly Taggart.

In a close and relatively low scoring game Errigal Ciaran defeated St Macartans in their league fixture.
