LADIES | St Macs Ease Past Carmen in Senior Championship

Macartans defeated Carrickmore in the Ladies senior championship on Friday evening at Dunmoyle on a final score of 3-14 to 1-4.

This was a very assured performance from Ryan Mc Menamin’s side who recovered from a shaky start to hold their great rivals scoreless from the fifteenth minute of the first half.

A quick-fire burst of scoring from Gemma Begley that saw her hit 1-3 put Carrickmore 1-4 to 0-2 ahead midway through the first half but Macartans settled to the task and dominated the game thereafter. Maura Mc Menamin, Slaine Mc Carroll, Lynda Donnelly, Cathy Donnelly and Joline Donnelly were outstanding for the winners ensuring that the Clogher Valley outfit progressed to the semi final.
