Laois deny Red Hand ladies

Tyrone 2-6
Laios 2-12
Tyrone were beaten again on Sunday in what is turning out to be a very disappointing league campaign. Laios came back from 2-2 to 0-4 down to lead 1-6 to 2-2 at the break, a penalty that produced a goal from Sinead Doogue cancelling out Begley and Cathy Donnelly’s majors for Tyrone.
Sarah Donnelly and Cathy Donnelly points split by a Martina Dunne score left it level at 1-7 to 2-4 and despite Begley and O’Kane points in quick succession that was Tyrone’s lot with eleven minutes to go. Nora Kirwan hit 0-2 and then a Martina Dunne goal pushed Laios on and they eased to what turned out to be a comfortable win for the visitors as they cut the Tyrone defence apart time after time. In a defence that found itself more than a little overworked only Woods and McGillion stood out while up front Gemma Begley was the pick of the forwards scoring1-3.
Relegation looks a distinct possibility for Tyrone with their poor defensive record having conceded 12-42 in four games. They have free scoring Kildare up next and should they fail to win that one, their league season could be as good as over.
