Laois Next Up For Ladies

Tyrone welcome Laois to Healy Park for Sunday’s second league game of the season keen to get a first win of the campaign.

On the back of last weekend’s opening draw with Cavan Gerry Moane will welcome back Slaine Mc Carroll, an 11th hour cry off last week and is also expected to reshuffle his attack. Aine Canavan is back among the subs while Colleen Mc Quaid appears to be a long term absentee after a nasty injury  sustained against Cavan.

Laois lost by 12 points to Armagh on the opening day and will not relish the wide open spaces of the County ground as they go toe to toe with the all Ireland intermediate champions.

Tyrone were good value for the draw last week. Indeed they could have sealed the win but after the draw the players were stung by some comments made last weekend about their performance. The Red Hands bossed the tie at times but crucially they failed to convert all the chances that came their way. Tyrone only scored seven times and to that end Moane fully understands they need to be more clinical in attack.

At the back Tyrone played well and once again they look strong but they will not need to be reminded just how effective the Laois attack can be. They were hard to handle in last year’s fixture down the country.

Omagh have given the green light for the 2pm throw in and a good support would be welcomed.
