Tattyreagh are through to the semi finals of the LCC Intermediate championship after a late goal saw them beat a fancied Dungannon side at Carrickmore.

James Darcy gave the winners the perfect start with a first minute goal but the rest of the half belonged to the Clarkes. Conor McKee kicked six points with Patrick Molloy, Oran Mallon and James Morgan also on target as they greeted the short whistle 0-11 to 1-2 in front.

Johnny Harkin, Darcy  and Eoghain Murray reduced the deficit on the restart but Dungannon hit back with a well taken Dalaigh Jones goal. At that stage there was twenty minutes to go and the Clarkes were 1-12 to 1-5 in front but Tattyreagh weren’t finished. Darcy hit a couple of frees and Dungannon lost Gary Molloy to a second booking. Gareth Mimnagh then received his marching orders for a straight red offence moments after he had pointed.

Harkin then fired over a brilliant score before the same player reduced the deficit to the minimum with three minutes to go when he converted a penalty after Darcy had been fouled. Patrick Molloy scored a free for the Clarkes, their first score in twenty minutes. Jarleth McDonagh replied for Tattyreagh before the game changed inside thirty seconds deep into injury time. First of all a great run from Ryan Jones saw him offload to Morgan who attempted to round Pritchard but the keeper made a great save. Tattyreagh came straight down the field for McDonagh to slot to he net before Darcy completed an unbelievable comeback from last season’s Junior championship winners as it finished 3-11 to 1-14.
