The season is over for the senior county camogs for 2013 however the clubs are in the midst of a series of matches. The highlight of the week was the camogie Ulster Féile which was held at various venues throughout Ulster. The competition was divided into seven divisions with over twenty teams participating. Naomh Treasa of Dungannon were the Tyrone entry and found themselves in Division 3B. The team performed really well in a tough group and won two of their three games and lost narrowly in one. Eoghan Rua of Coleraine won the division and went on to the final on Sunday in  the Derry GAA Centre of Excellence, Owenbeg, Dungiven. They played Dungiven and the game ended in a draw.

Tyrone under 16 poc-fada winner Rona Mallon represented her county in the Poc Fada Uladh on Friday night at Divis Mountain Belfast. The competition was fierce and the eventual winner was Amy Freer from Down with a final score of 53 pucks. It was a rain drenched experience for the young camog but one she found to be exciting and challenging. The Eoghan Ruadh senior hurler Paddy Mc Killion narrowly missed out on winning the senior title by a couple of metres in a measure off with Derry’s Sean McBride. Stephen Currie was the Tyrone under 16 hurling representative.

In the under 14 league there were wins for Dungannon and Eglish. The senior league saw wins for Eglish and Brocagh. This coming week’s Post Primary fixtures are Éire Óg V Dungannon, Derrylaughan V Doiretreasc, Brocagh V Edendork and Eglish V Moortown. Eglish will welcome Father Shields in the senior league.

There will be the first championship title handed out on Saturday 29th June as Doiretreasc and Eglish battle for the Post Primary Bridie McMenamin Shield at 5:30 venue tbc. It’s always a well-attended match and we hope everyone enjoys the game. On that Saturday morning at 10:00am Eglish will host the Ulster Support Programme. It is open to all coaches and the session will be taken by Ross Corbett. Can clubs please send at least two coaches or players to this session as they will learn a lot from the event.
